Economic Development

The Shadow of Charity Organization through varying economic development programs has empowered women and youth by providing small scale business startup kits and provision of Business Development Services (BDS) to SMEs being conducted within the communities in Hargele, Ethiopia. The organization also seeks to provide business development programs that include training for SMEs on how to grow their business, build business linkages and increase market accessibility.

The strategic Interventions in the economic development program:

  • Support xxxx women with
  • capital to start Small business
  • Train women in business skills and financial education
  • Train women in small enterprises (weaving, bead and necklaces making)
  • Increase access market for women enterprises by looking for markets for their goods and services
  • Organize women symposiums and provide women with forums to learn from women from other area, share their experience and network.
  • Train in village methods of savings (Village SACCOs, Table banking and intergroup savings and borrowing).
  • Train women in Mobile Phone savings and encourage women utilization of mobile phone financial services where there is network coverage.
  • Train women in Bricks Making in order to earn a living and provide for their families
